When you arrive for your first appointment,
we take the time to show you around our office. We are always pleased
to point out the features of our practice, such as the cosmetic
video imaging system, sterilization center, and operatory space. Next,
Dr. Norman sits down with you for a short informal meeting. During
this session, he learns about you and your objectives for treatment.
When you are in the dentist's chair, we have TV/video eyeglasses
so you can watch DVDs while we work on your mouth. If you still feel
uncomfortable, please notify anyone on our staff. They are always
willing to address your concerns and strive to make you relaxed.

Our practice takes a variety of precautions
to ensure patient safety. First, our staff is thoroughly trained
in the latest sterilization procedures and research. Our office complies
and exceeds OSHA standards for safety. We also have an Ultraviolet
Air Purification System which we use to purify the air in our practice.
In addition to the protective masks
and gloves our staff wears during your examination, we have a sterilization
center where we can maximize efficient sterilization and minimize
the chance of contamination through human error. If you have any
questions, we would be happy to demonstrate our sterilization procedures.

Bleeding gums can be a symptom of
many things, from a leaky filling to simply brushing your teeth too
hard. If your gums bleed after you brush your teeth, schedule an
appointment with Dr. Norman right away. While bleeding gums may seem
harmless, it can also be a symptom of gingivitis, a disorder related
to gum disease that causes painful, irreversible damage to your teeth.
Worse, bacteria in your mouth can get into your blood stream and
accumulate in your heart, lungs, and other organs.
Thankfully, gingivitis can be treated.
If your gums are bleeding, schedule an appointment with us. When
you come in, we examine your mouth, chart your gums, and take x-rays.
From there, we can recommend ways to treat the gums and stop the
bleeding.

Dr. Norman usually recommends these
restorative procedures as part of a permanent restoration. They
are longer lasting, easier on your mouth, and more aesthetic looking.
You can learn more about veneers on our Patient Education page.
The
American Dental Association also
has a lot of information on these procedures and others.
If you are curious about any procedure we recommend, we welcome your
questions. As professionals in the dental field, we keep up on the
latest research
and findings. You can also refer to Caesy, a patient education
system in our
office that you can access to print information on a particular procedures.

Dr. Norman is always eager to help
you improve the appearance of your teeth without braces. We have
a variety of cosmetic services, including veneers and crowns to help
you. Each person is unique and in order for Dr. Norman to prescribe
a particular treatment, he would have to examine your mouth, listen
to what your expectations are, and then make an assessment. If you're
interested in straightening or changing the appearance of your teeth,
you might want to schedule an appointment for a Smile Analysis and
a Smile Design session with Dr. Norman.
In a Smile Analysis,
Dr. Norman looks at all the factors that make up your smile. These
are the shape of a smile, the size, the smile line, and the position
of your teeth, lips, and gums when you smile. He listens to your
expectations for your smile
and what concerns you may have about achieving the look you want.
Once he has this information, he can
create a customized Smile Design. Using the cosmetic
video imaging system, Dr. Norman then generates an image of your new smile, reviews
the results with you, and discusses the next steps to make it happen.
